Love Songs For Weddings
When you are selecting love songs for weddings you will want to consider songs
that have a special meaning for you as a couple. You should also think about
when in the ceremony or party you want to hear them. It is more common to have
instrumental music during the ceremony, but you could have a love song playing
as you walk up the aisle. Generally this song would be the bride's choice, as it
is the music on which she makes her entrance. Think about whether you want it to
play from a CD or have someone sing.
You may also have music at the end of the ceremony, and of course if there is
dancing you will have a band or DJ in the evening. You will need to make your
special requests in advance so that they are prepared. Keep in mind that a band
might have to practice for a while to learn your special song, if it is not in
their repertoire. If you are going to take the traditional first dance together,
you will want to agree on what that song should be. The second song is important
too, when the bride dances with her father and the groom with his mother.
For those songs it is important to listen to the lyrics unless you already know
them off by heart. You might find that a song that you always thought of as very
romantic has an unpleasant surprise in the second or third verse! Most young
couples have songs that are special to them, but for an older couple you may not
have danced together very much and many love songs may be associated with other
relationships earlier in your lives. How about something from a movie that you
saw together?
You will also need to decide on the overall style of the music for your wedding,
especially during the party. Consider the age range and interests of your
guests. Usually there is a wide range of ages at a wedding and for at least the
first part of the party it is good to have something that will appeal to
everyone including older people and children. Aim for a mixture of old and new,
fast and slow, and different musical styles. If you have very unusual musical
tastes try to save them for later or mix them in. You do not want to drive all
your guests away!
For your first dance the possibilities are limited only by your own feelings.
There are millions of love songs for wedding parties and it is just a question
of choosing one. If you are stuck for ideas, go through your CD collection, your
friends' CD collections, or look on iTunes. Just go for a song that you both
love, and that says something about your feelings for each other. It does not
matter what anybody else thinks. It is the bride and groom who matter when it
comes to choosing love songs for weddings.
